大きな石をアトリエの中に運び、ひたすらその石を観察しながら絵を描いていく。触ったり座ったり匂いを嗅いでみたりしながら描き進める。
元々床が汚れないように敷いていた養生シートにそのまま絵を描いた。
シートに飛び散ってしまった絵の具が重ねられていく様子が、削られた小さい石がだんだん固まって大きな石になっていく感じに似ていたからだ。
I brought a large stone into the studio and painted while observing the stone. I continued painting while touching it, sitting on it, and smelling it. I painted directly on the protective sheet that was originally laid down on the floor to protect it from dirt. The way the paint that had splattered on the sheet was layered on top of each other resembled the feeling of small stones that had been carved out and gradually hardening into large stones.

メインの大きな作品を描いていく上で、まず初めは足て踏みつけるように養生シートに墨汁を垂らしながら色を重ねた。
山から流れ落ちて削れる石を想像しながら実際に足で音をドンドン鳴らして描いた。
また、石は1種類の物質からできているわけではないため黒以外の色も付け足したくなった。そこで壁に養生シートを貼って様々な色をのせ続けた。
When creating the main large piece, I started by dripping ink onto a protective sheet, stepping on it with my feet, layering the colors.
I imagined stones flowing down the mountain and being shaved away, and actually pounded my feet while I painted.
Also, because stones are not made of one type of material, I wanted to add colors other than black. So I stuck a protective sheet onto the wall and continued to layer various colors.
Production Process
大きな作品だったため途中からハシゴが欠かせなくなった。
また友人が養生シートの芯の先に刷毛をつけた「ロング刷毛」を作ってくれた。
高い部分に色を載せたい時はそのオリジナル刷毛を使用してペイントした。
Because it was a large piece, a ladder became necessary halfway through the project. Also, my friend made me a "long brush" by attaching a brush to the end of a protective sheet core. When I wanted to paint high up, I used that original brush.
